2 lbs. ground grass-fed beef
Vegan Option: 2 lbs. Beyond Meat Plant Based Ground Beef
2 Tbsp of olive oil
1 red bell pepper, finely diced
½ red onion chopped
4 cloves of garlic minced
2 ½ cups of tomato sauce
Keto Option: Yo Mama’s Keto Friendly Tomato Basil Sauce
1 Tbsp paleo/keto friendly tomato paste
1 Tbsp Monk Fruit Sweetener
1 Tbsp chipotle chile powder
3 Tbsp chili powder
¼ tsp red pepper flakes
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Freshly chopped parsley for garnish
Add olive oil to large skillet or frying pan and beef. Add a dash of salt and pepper to the ground beef or beyond meat ground beef while cooking. Once brown, drain the meat, and place back in pan.
Add red bell pepper, onion and garlic.
Cook on med high for about 2-3 minutes or until red pepper and onion ingredients begin to soften.
Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, monk fruit sweetener, and seasonings. You can adjust seasonings as you would like.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Combine and let simmer for 20-30 minutes.
If you want to kick up the heat a notch, add an additional tablespoon of chipotle chile pepper.
Garnish with parsley.
